Hello again, Creative Friends!
I know, I know, it’s been too long!
I want to share some positive writing news that has absolutely blown me away.
Back on 28th January 2026 my writing friend, Robbie Westacott (I’ve mentioned him before in an earlier post) sent me a message asking if I wanted to join an online writing community he was looking at launching soon. Of course, I jumped at the chance with a resounding ‘YES’.
Robbie’s idea behind it was about bringing accountability and consistency into writers’ lives. He proposed we meet online four times per week, mute our screens, and do nothing else but write or edit. What a brainchild!
Consequently, TWJ Writing Community was born on Monday 23rd February 2026.
Since then I can honestly say I have added many words to my memoir and edited a script … isn’t that amazing?
In addition to this, we have all made new writing friends worldwide. We listen, support and cheer one another on … priceless!
We will be forever indebted to Robbie. He is one of the most inspiring and humble people I know. Words cannot express how much of a wonderful human being he truly is. We are all so lucky to have him in our writing lives.
On Sunday 26th April he also launched a 30-Day Writing Challenge for the group. My target is 500 words per day. I wasn’t able to start until Tuesday 28th April but since then I’ve been flying down that word count road. By the end of the writing challenge I will have added over 15,000 words to my memoir … crazy but true!
The goal is to finish the first draft of my memoir by the end of the year … watch this space!
In other news, I’m still doing my other loves – reading and hiking and I’ve had another poem published on Substack – link to be provided soon.
Until the next time … keep reading, keep writing, keep creating!
